Obi-Wan Launching On Disney+ Friday

Star Wars fans prepare yourself. Because after falling in love with the Star Wars Universe all over again through the final season of Clone Wars and the space western known as The (Baby Yoda Show) Mandalorian,  it is time to walk perilously close to the prequel trilogy. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have been saying in interviews that time has been kind to the much-derided section of Star Wars lore. We almost wonder if it is just the duty of half the Star Wars fandom to say that whatever movie is out now is terrible compared to the perfection that was whatever came along before. I guess we will see for sure as the next slate of stories rolls out.

This is all happening because this Friday the brand new Obi-Wan Kenobi series will begin streaming on Disney+, bringing a highly anticipated story to the screen that will tell viewers what happened between baby Luke Skywalker being handed off to his doomed uncle and aunt at the end of Star Wars Episode 3 and A New Hope where we meet Luke as he is purchasing a stubborn R2 unit and an annoyingly articulate protocol droid. The series will launch with 2 episodes on Friday at 12:00 pacific time.

The series has received massive buzz as it will feature McGregor and Christensen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. But it will be the first time we will see Christensen play the role in the full iconic suit aside from a clumsy dismount and NOOOOOOOO!

Here is to hoping that the force is strong with this entry. Hayden Christensen deserves a do-over. Maybe they can even find a way to redeem ……Jar Jar.
