New Smart TV’s Feature Roku and Android TV

Android TV is getting a big push to start of the new year as Haier and Westinghouse announced plans to roll out new sets that utilize the Android TV platform. Haier will be launching TV’s later this year featuring the new Android TV Oreo operating system that groups content together on the home screen VS using a lineup of apps like the current Android TV approach.

Westinghouse , which also has TV’s powered by Amazon OS will be expanding to the Android TV platform putting the system on its 4k TV’s for 2018. Roku will also continue to support Roku the Westinghouse powered TV’s. The Android TV devices will support apps and the Chromecast capabilities via wireless devices.

Roku partner TCL is launching a new model for 2018 that will update the look of the previous model as well as offer new sizes 43 to 65 inches. The TV’s main operating system will be the Roku OS.
