Well it looks like Netflix will have the rights to at least one gigantic series from the 1990s. Variety reports that Seinfeld, which has been on Disney’s Hulu as part of a major streaming deal will be jumping to Netflix in a new deal that will take effect in 2021. The streaming network will have the full 180 episode run including the “beloved” final episode.
“’Seinfeld’ is a one-of-a-kind, iconic, culture-defining show,” said Mike Hopkins, chairman of Sony Pictures Television. “Now, 30 years after its premiere, ‘Seinfeld’ remains center stage. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Netflix to bring this beloved series to current fans and new audiences around the globe.”
Netflix is also home to an original stand up special starring Jerry Seinfeld “Jerry before Seinfeld”
