Fubo Continues To Add Broadcast Networks

Fubo TV is continuing to grow its cord cutting options by adding local TV stations in multiple markets. The company has been slowly expanding its reach as it been building an identity outside of being a sports-centric service. As was pointed out here, at The Streaming Advisor, we believe that getting access to local affiliates is the key metric to monitor for cord cutting

Its coverage is not all-encompassing but it is growing. At this point Fubo TV offers  FOX coverage in 91% of U.S. households, including 50 of the top 50 and 136 markets total. It provides NBC coverage in 74% of U.S. households, including 19 of the top 20 markets and 42 of the top 50. (80 markets total). The current king of networks, CBS, has coverage in 69% of U.S. households, including 20 of the top 20 markets and 35 of the top 50. (72 markets total).

The overall effect is that the company is beginning to be able to offer a viable alternative for users who want to get away from cable packages without losing dependable access to major network affiliates which can be accessed by antennas but with incredibly mixed results. The “local” networks provide access to most of the biggest programming on TV including the most direct way to see Their local NFL football teams. Not to mention local coverage of college sports and such.

In addition Subscribers to the “Fubo” (formerly Fubo Premier) base package, or the recently-launched “Fubo Extra” tier, can also watch programming from CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW and other national networks via video-on-demand (VOD) through fuboTV. TV Everywhere access using fuboTV login and password is available on many networks, listed here.
