Comcast Streaming Option Finally Has A Name

Comcast’s upcoming NBC Universal service will be called Peacock. Anybody who knows their TV history will know that the Peacock has been associated with NBC for decades. The name should be memorable and probably less confusing than calling the service NBC Max, or Universal TV etc. Yeah I’m looking at you AT&T. Recently it was announced that the service was not only going to be the home of The Office and Parks and Rec but a reboot of Battle Star Galactica as well as home to other NBC/Comcast properties not currently tied up in other contracts. Some programming will be available on other apps as well.

When will the Peacock service launch?

The service is said to be launching at the end of the year.

What will Peacock cost?

Comcast has yet to announce exactly what the service will cost other than to say that it will be free to users who already have cable services with partner providers. It will work not unlike the NBC app for multiple devices.
