The Streaming Advisor was born in June 2013, at the time the startup website was a labor of love for veteran journalist Ryan M. Downey. He ascended from the small town Mt. Olive Tribune to working for major metropolitan publications like the (Raleigh) News and Observer and Associated Press. Likewise, the Streaming Advisor publically launched with 20 excellent articles and has grown exponentially ever since — it currently has over 1000 stories and 3.5 million web views.
The Streaming Advisor’s Youtube channel provides unique content including “How to” educational videos and compelling Product/Services reviews. The library has over 1.3 million views and visitors have spent over 3.5 million minutes learning.
Today the Streaming Advisor is the preeminent news website for cord cutting and the streaming industry. Mr. Downey is frequently interviewed by various Tech Publications and recently in a technology article in the Los Angeles Times.
