Is Channel Pear on Plex? How to Add Channel PEAR To Plex

Channel PEAR, the IP Stream sharing app that has caught the imagination of thousands on Roku is now available as an application on Plex. By adding the app to Plex it means that Channel PEAR users can now access their streams on any platform that utilizes Plex. We have put together a guide to help you understand how to set it all up. What do you need

Plex Media Server

A Plex app such as Plex Media Center

A computer to run the server and access channel Pear

If you are not already registered for Channel PEAR

  1. Create a folder called Channel PEAR on your desktop
  2. Go to the Channel PEAR website here
  3. Log In to Channel PEAR

  4. Select the option “Library” If you are taken to the forum page select Home and then select Library

  5. Once in the library section select the orange text called Plex Channel

  6. Click the Green Button and select download the plugin

  7. Allow the download to begin and click on the file when it is finished

    You must have a zip file opener Winzip, winrar etc in order to extract the file.

  8. Select the folder and click extract

  9. Select the desktop folder and choose the folder Channel PEAR and press ok or enter the destination path appropriate to which ever operating system being used. Copy and paste the correct one for your system.
    • on Windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins
    • on Mac: ~Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins
    • on Linux: /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins or /var/lib/plex/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins
    • on FreeBSD usr/pbi/plexmediaserver-amd64/plexdata/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-ins/

    Select the Channel pear folder from the list under desktop and press ok

  10. Go to the desktop and open the Channel PEAR Folder

  11. Go to the desktop folder and rename the folder channelpear.bundle-master.zip as channelpear.bundle

  13. Select Plex Media Server and open the Plugins Folder

  14. Paste channelpear.bundle into the Plugins Folder and reset the Plex Media Server. (If need be reset your computer)

  15. Open a new tab or winder and go the the website Plex.tv

  17. Launch the Plex Web Application
  18. Go to channels
  19. But the cursor over the Channel Pear Icon and click the gear icon

  20. Remember the the Download box we told you to keep open? Go Back to the Channel Pear website and copy the URL under the download button if this window was closed click the orange Plex channel option in the right hand corner and copy the URL

  21. Go to the text field “Enter your custom channel PEAR Plex URL” paste the URL in the box and save

  22. exit to channels and open Channel PEAR and select “All” You should now see your channels displayed

    • What do you mean the channels are empty? My guess is that by the nature of this ip TV streaming game that the streams you added were in fact inactive. It is at best an inexact science.
